Catchin’ Waves is a classic minigame featured on all Club Penguin Private Servers! This iconic and sporty game is a great way to unwind and earn coins. The goal is to surf waves and perform different tricks! In this guide we will go over the basics of Catchin Waves, and how to obtain every stamp!

Before You Get Started
Game Location
In Club Penguin Journey, the Catchin’ Waves minigame is located at the Cove
Items
To collect all of the Catchin’ Waves stamps, you’ll need to purchase a red puffle and the Silver Surfboard.

There are 22 Catchin’ Waves stamps for you to collect! Once you’ve obtained all of them, you will earn double coins each time you play the game.
Easy: 7

Surf Lesson Game Mode
First Trick
Master your first trick on your surfboard!
Puffle Surfin’
Bring your red puffle surfing with you!
Easy Flip
Do a flip! While in the air, you must move your cursor in circles very quickly to do a flip.
Tips:
1. ) When you are spinning in the air, make sure to right click to regain your balance and land perfectly.
Easy Tube
To earn this stamp you’ll need to earn 100 points while performing the Shooting the Tube trick.
Tips:
1.) The learning course will teach you how to perform this trick.
2.) Stay as close to the wave as possible and maintain that distance throughout the trick.
Easy Grind
Hit 100 point combo while grinding the wave
Tips:
1.) The learning course will teach you how to perform this trick.
2.) To grind, you’ll need to first jump and right click and hold as you begin to fall.
Hold the button down until the tip of the wave reaches you. Once this happens, release the button and the trick is complete!
Easy Spin
Perform a three spin jump.
Tips:
1.) To spin, you’ll need to spam your WASD or arrow keys while in the air.
2.) The higher you jump, the more spins you’ll be able to do.
3.) Be patient and try as many times as you need.
Medium
We recommend you equip the Silver Surfboard when completing the Medium stamp quests.
Trick Star
Master 13 different tricks in a surf.
Tips:
1.) Spam tricks using your arrow key and your mouse to help you.
Podium Puffle
Finish in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place with your red puffle.
Flip Star
Jump and flip 3 times.
Tips:
1.) Remember to flip you must turn your cursor in circles very quickly
2.) Gain lots of momentum before you begin spinning
3.) When you are spinning, right click to regain your balance to land a perfect fall.
Easy Jump
Jump the height of 8 penguins.
Tips:
1.) Using the Silver Surfboard makes this a million times easier.
Super Tube
To earn this stamp you’ll need to earn 1000 points while performing the Shooting the Tube trick.
Tips:
1.) The learning course will teach you how to perform this trick.
2.) Stay as close to the wave as possible and maintain that distance throughout the trick.
3.) Using the Silver Surfboard makes this a million times easier.
Super Spin
Perform a 7 spin jump.
Tips:
1.) Using the Silver Surfboard makes this a million times easier.
2.) Use your Silver Surfboard to gain momentum and jump really high, then you have time to do more flips.
Super Grind
Hit 700 point combo while grinding the wave
Tips:
1.) The learning course will teach you how to perform this trick.
2.) To grind, you’ll need to first jump and right click and hold as you begin to fall.
Hold the button down until the tip of the wave reaches you. Once this happens, release the button and the trick is complete!
3.) During the jump make sure to perform a combo of flips. When you land you’ll earn more points from your grind.
Hard
We recommend you equip the Silver Surfboard when completing the Hard stamp quests.
Max Grind
Hit 1200 point combo while grinding the wave.
Tips:
1.) The learning course will teach you how to perform this trick.
2.) To grind, you’ll need to first jump and right click and hold as you begin to fall.
Hold the button down until the tip of the wave reaches you. Once this happens, release the button and the trick is complete!
3.) During the jump make sure to perform a combo of flips. When you land you’ll earn more points from your grind.
First Place
Win first place in a competition.
Competition mode. No membership required.
Tips:
1.) Make sure you survive until the surf is complete.
2.) Keep the judges happy. Perform the tricks they request to farm points and fill their satisfaction bar.
3.) Aim to score at least 9 in all three rounds to ensure your victory.
Max Flips
Flip 10 times.
Tips:
1.) Using the Silver Surfboard makes this a million times easier.
2.) Use your Silver Surfboard to gain momentum and jump really high, then you have time to do more flips.
High Jump
Jump the height of 20 penguins.
Tips:
1.) Using the Silver Surfboard makes this a million times easier.
Max Tube
To earn this stamp you’ll need to earn 5000 points with a single tube while performing the Shooting the Tube trick.
Recommended game mode
Tips:
1.) This is easiest to do in Freestyle mode. At the beginning of the wave press the S+D keys (down and right arrows) as fast as you can until the wave is over.
2.) Use your Silver Surfboard and do tricks. Go up and down the wave so it doesn’t reach you.
3.) Stay as close as possible to the wave and maintain that distance.
Max Spin
Perform a 10 spin jump.
Tips:
1.) Using the Silver Surfboard makes this a million times easier.
2.) Use your Silver Surfboard to gain momentum and jump really high, then you have time to do more flips.
3.) Use the left and right arrows of your keyboard to turn. Keep them pressed and you’ll have completed the spins.
Extreme
We recommend you equip the Silver Surfboard when completing the Extreme stamp quests.
Shark!
Spot the shark
Tips:
1.) The shark will appear once you’ve reached 20,000 points in survival mode.
2.) Using the Silver Surfboard makes this a million times easier.
3.) Be patient!
Survivor
Complete survivor mode
Survival Mode
Tips:
1.) Using the Silver Surfboard makes this a million times easier.
2.) Survivor mode ends when you’ve reached 20,000 points. This takes about 10 minutes.
3.) Tricks boost your score but won’t make the game finish faster. It’s best to avoid doing them.
4.) Watch out for sharks! One will appear towards the end and it is difficult to dodge. It is best to have a spare board on hand just in case.
5.) Don’t freak if you hit an iceberg. You’ll wobble for a bit but you won’t wipe out. Stay calm and regain your balance.
